Old Blogs from myspace...

September 2007: What to say about September? Started out hot hot hot, like the rest of the stinking summer has been, but has finally cooled down. A very strange year, and not a fun one. Life really sucks.
October 2007:
Ah, October..... There is a chill in the air, the leaves are falling off the trees, this means the yard is a mess...............
A vicious circle.
One of my best friends (whom I haven't seen in a few years, so probably not my best friend anymore) passed away this month. Kind of brings our mortality to the forefront doesn't it?
So, for you Jan, my old best friend, here's to you, may you find peace, love, joy, rest, all the things you craved in life, but were just out of your reach. Know this, I love you and will truely miss you. You were my Janus. Good bye my friend, I will watch over your girls as best I can.
November 2007:
This has been a horrible month. I can't even go into it, but it includes: destruction, deceipt, degradation, depression, and now death.
This is also the month to give Thanks! Right now, thanks for nothing.
On a lighter note, Happy Birthday this month to:
My sweet little Mom, Becky B, Pat, Frank, and Hazel!

December 2007:
Okee Dokee, well, December is almost over (Thank Goodness!). Not in the mood for Holiday stuff this year. Can't wait to start 2008!

January 2008:
2008 can you believe it? What a ride! The worst Winter I can remember is upon us and hanging on for dear life. There are no signs of it stopping, like a train wreck!
January saw my poor little dad falling several times, going to emergency twice, being admitted to the hospital with a broken (hairline fracture) leg, not getting enough oxygen and being confused to the point they said he needed to be on a ventilator, then pulled through at the last minute (when they finally gave him some heavy duty oxygen), in ICU, having pnuemonia and a bladder infection, then back on the ward where they discharged him to a "Rehab" Center (nursing home). He is a tough old bird though, and is working hard to go home! I hope he makes it, he'll be devastated if he can't. He loves his independence, as do we all.
This month, I didn't get a chance to do much reading. Finished Full Speed and am working on The Silken Web. Watched the following movies: Good Night and Good Luck, Babel, The Prize Winner of Defiance Ohio, Brooklyn Lobster, Infamous, I am Legend , Notes on a Scandal, Alone With Her, The Fountain, Nowhere Man (first 6 episodes), Shooter, The Squid and the Whale .
Happy Birthday to ME!!!, My cute little Aunt Lee who turned 81, Carol R, Becky S, My beautiful daughter Corey, & My cute little grand daughter Trena.
February 2008:
Very excited SURVIVOR is on again. A true test of human nature............
This month I watched the following movies: Everything is Illuminated, A Love Song For Bobby Long, Nowhere Man (disc 3-4), In Her Shoes, Wedding Crashers, Fracture (excellent), & Severance.
Finished reading The Silken Web & Beach House, listening to White Hot.
Happy Birthday to my friend Diana in Denver, my Nephew Tyson in Rangely and my Dad who will be 86!
This Month was especially hard. My dad went back to the ICU from a nursing home due to poor nursing care. He was making great strides to rehabilitate and go home, but now may never get better. He has been admitted to a long term acute care facility, but he seems to be declining instead of getting better. Unfortunately his cognitive abilities are not improving. Today, Leap Year, I am still holding out hope he will recover enough to talk to me. In celebration of him, I display his picture as my default..... for now.
Much love to you all......
Sharon
March 2008: Unfortunately my cute dad passed away on March 29th, 2008. I will miss him every day.
Well, hey March is almost over. It came in like a lion and is going out like a lion. What on earth does that mean?
This month my poor sweet papa has been extremely ill and unfortunately had to have his only leg amputated. He is devastated. He is suffering from temporary (we hope) delusion, quite common in life threatening situations, ICU patients, post surgery patients, etc. He seems to be coming around, although slowly and will be going back to rehab in a skilled nursing factility this month. I'm pulling for you daddy, you're a tough old guy, way tougher than I could ever be in your situation. Most of my days since January have been filled with advocating for him. It's worth it if it makes his life easier. Here is a poem I've written for him:
I sit here and daydream of my past and how it seems, I can picture the day he returned from his surgery, my dad lying in his hospital bed so small and frail. I look over at him and see a single tear, he thinks he is losing everything, his biggest fear, but I love him more than ever on this day, so I look at him and through my own tears I blow a kiss his way. He has been there every single day of my life. He has been the provider through all the struggle and strife. I would be lost if he hadn't shown me the way. I don't know that I would have made it from day to day. I am so lucky for all he has done. Out of all the dads, he is the very best one.
So far this month I finished "White Hot" book on tape by Sandra Brown, started a book by Mary Higgins Clark, "I Heard That Song Before", finished a book on tape by Richard Paul Evans, "The Sunflower", am listening to a book on tape "Vanish". I have seen the following movies; Disk 5,6,7,8,& 9 of Nowhere man, Click, Proof, Death Proof, Scoop, Fools Gold, Nanny McPhie, Cars, The Brothers Grimm, American Dreamz, & Shudder.
I attended a concert in Wendover, Utah at the new Peppermill Concert Hall. Michael Bolton!!!! He was excellent.
This month would have been my brother, Mike's, 61st birthday, he also has been dead for 40 years this month. Seems like yesterday. Mike, I'm thinking of you still. I love you.
Happy St Patty's Day and Happy Easter to you all!!!!!!!!!!!
April 2008:
April flew by in a flurry. I am still in mourning from losing my Dad. After over 26 years of battling Lou Gehrig's disease, he died peacefully in his sleep. I wasn't ready to let him go, but I guess he was ready to go. Good bye daddy! I love you and miss you so much. I wish I had more time with you. It's never enough.
One of my step Brother's, Steve, committed suicide about the same time my cute little dad passed away. Odd. Some people hold on to every breath while others just throw it all away.
This month I saw the following movies: Happy Valley (horrible), Nims Island (cute), 27 Dresses (cute), The Bucket List (very cute), Baby Mama (funny), Apocalypto (interesting), 16 Blocks (good), The Ice Harvest, Lonesome Jim, Breaking & Entering.

Happy Anniversary to my beautiful Daughter and her husband, Corey & Trent
